The excellence of blockchain technology makes it a global research, but commercial barriers still exist in the industry, especially its system performance which unable to meet the actual needs of current high-frequency data interaction. With that, the academic institutions and industry have actively carried out research on the expansion of blockchain technology and proposed three types of plans: off-chain expansion, on-chain expansion, and layer 0 expansion. This paper sorts out the NGK blockchain expansion technology, compares and analyzes the pros and cons of each plan, and proposes the relevant implementation methods.

With the characteristics of decentralized storage and disintermediation of trust, the blockchain will profoundly change the current social organization, especially in the digital economy era where data has become a new factor of production. Thus, blockchain will also redefine the production relations and lay the information infrastructure of the digital economy.

However, in large-scale applications, especially in terms of high-frequency data interaction, the problems such as insufficient scalability and low system performance still exist. Therefore, the expansion of blockchain performance has become a constraint that restricts the advancement of blockchain application. It is necessary to carry out research on blockchain expansion technology to improve the efficiency of the blockchain system, so that the blockchain technology truly serve the society and people’s livelihood.

The current blockchain will encounter the issue of congestion. Blockchain technology allows any user to establish a trust relationship without the need for a third-party trust agency. Such a trust relationship is based on the user’s trust in the entire system without having to trust a single node. This will facilitate and bring great changes to the collaboration between organizations and business models in various industries. However, the current blockchain system has serious problems in its performance scalability and transaction throughput.

NGK greatly solves the problem of block generation encountered by users. The traditional distributed systems use CAP theory, and the system can only meet at most two of the three characteristics of data consistency, availability, and network partition tolerance. While blockchain has a distributed system architecture, and a ternary of paradoxes (i.e. performance expansion, decentralization and security). These characteristics cannot be satisfied at the same time, so the existing blockchain system chooses to sacrifice the performance to ensure the credible and safe storage of transaction records by multiple parties.

Therefore, when the performance of the blockchain system is expanded, it is necessary to consider the aspects of decentralization and security. The traditional distributed system to increase the system throughput by increasing the number of nodes were unable to increase the speed of the blockchain system in processing the data interaction. It turned out that the consensus efficiency was reduced and caused further degradation of system performance. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out research on the improvement of blockchain performance, that is, the blockchain expansion technology.

NGK.IO blockchain adopts the DPOSS (Delegated Proof of Stake & Service) consensus algorithm. In order to upgrade the DPOS algorithm, the block producers in the original DPOS algorithm are not given more responsibilities and obligations. This greatly hinders its ecological function. On the other hand, the DPOSS algorithm can stimulate the enthusiasm of developers, and promote the ecological development of DAPP, which is more in line with the concept of decentralized management in sharing and co-governance the blockchain memory.
